With the Blue as a tonal starting point, the Gold is a higher-powered model with a ‘well played-in’ character. Over time as the cone becomes more flexible, the high frequencies of a Blue soften and become less chalky – a sought-after tone that the Gold provides out of the box.
It also has an added warmth and complexity in the midrange, a rounded low-end and brilliant bell-like highs. It delivers huge rhythm voicings and saturated vocal leads, with classic alnico laid-back attack.
